Freshman Will Sumner of Georgia anchored the Bulldogs to a victory in one of the most competitive 4x400 relays in college history. Georgia won it in 2:58.82, while Alabama (2:59.15) and UCLA (2:59.25) were close as three teams broke three minutes for the first time ever. Sumner split 44.8 on the anchor for Georgia.
