Head track and field coach Mario Sategna, as well as athletes Johannes Hock, Courtney Okolo, Kaitlin Petrillose and Ashley Spencer, met with the media before Tuesday's practice to preview the 87th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays.

On serving as host to the Texas Relays for the first time as head coach: It's very, very exciting. Thankfully, we have the best supporting staff led by James Barr, director of a tremendous facilities group. They really take a lot of pressure off of us so that we can really concentrate on getting our team prepared and getting ready for this.

On how the preparation is coming along: It's very good. Like we talked about on LHN [Longhorn Network] yesterday, the Texas Relays really kicks off the outdoor season for us. We're coming off a very successful indoor campaign and we're excited to see in front of our home fans, family and friends where we're at right now and get ready for the long outdoor season that will run through the middle part of June.
