Strake Jesuit TX senior Matthew Boling continued his scorching start to the 2019 outdoor track and field season Saturday with a stunning comeback in the 4x100 relay and a 10.20w (+2.2) victory in the 100 meters at the 92nd Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays.

RESULTS

Those results built upon an enormous mark in the long jump of 26-3.50 (8.01m) that was the farthest by a prep since Marquise Goodwin's record-setting 26-10 in 2009.

Boling powered Strake Jesuit to a photo-finish win over Duncanville TX as both teams were timed in 40.86 seconds. Long Beach Poly CA was third in 40.91.

In collegiate action, the Houston men edged LSU in a high-powered 4x200 relay, clocking 1:20.94 to 1:21.47. LSU turned the tables on the Cougars in the 4x100, winning 38.41 to 38.45 -- the top two times in the country so far in 2019.

In the women's 4x100 relay, LSU nosed out Arkansas 43.58 to 43.62 as those squads moved to Nos. 4 and 5 on the national list.

Chris Nilsen of South Dakota won the univesity elite men's pole vault with 19-0.25 (5.80m) to move to No. 1 on the NCAA list.

NCAA double indoor champion Payton Otterdahl won the men's shot put with 69-8.25 (21.28m), also an NCAA best.
